RCN launches intranet

On March 15 the Kingdom Service Caribbean Netherlands RCN launched its own intranet. The launch was made known by workers with a special video clip. RCN wants to use this modern communication tool to bring its workers closer together and keep them abreast of all sorts of matters within the organisation. “Through the intranet, employees on Bonaire, St. Eustatius and Saba can be informed in a fast and efficient manner about, for example, the latest news within the organisation and news from the media,” the release stated. Also, there are forms, manuals, procedures and laws on the intranet. There is an archive of photos of important events to be found as well, while advertisements can be posted on a bulletin board. To introduce the intranet, the department of communication has organised a contest. Hidden on the intranet are 12 words which together form a sentence that has to do with communication. In this manner, the workers will learn their way on the intranet in a fun way. They can also win prizes by submitting the correct solution.
