Saba provides temporary assistance to St. Maarten for re-calibrating fuel meters

The St. Maarten News Network reports that the Minister of Tourism, Economic Affairs, Transport & Telecommunications (Ministry TEATT) Hon. Claret Connor announced on Thursday that Ministry TEATT will be purchasing two fuel calibration tanks that would be used to test and re-calibrate fuel meters to make sure customers are getting what they purchased from a petrol station.

In the meantime, the Public Entity of Saba will loan the ministry their calibrating tank until the Sint Maarten tank which is currently in Curacao is repaired. The calibrating tank from Saba should arrive sometime next week.

“I would like to take this opportunity to publicly thank the Government of Saba for assisting us on the short-term. This once again demonstrates the strong bonds that continue to exist between the islands despite the dissolution of the former Netherlands Antilles,” Minister Connor stated on Thursday.
