Thursday, February 4: Island wide interruption electricity – UPDATE

UPDATE: Kindly note that the power outage – which was scheduled to take place on Thursday, February 4, 2016, from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. for the test to switchover from SEC’s old power plant to its new power plant– has been postponed to:

Monday, February 8, 2016, from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

During this test on Monday, February 8, we will attempt to synchronize to our grid without any outages; however, it is advisable to take the necessary precautions to safeguard your electronic devices/equipment from the effects of a power outage.

Please note this decision was made to ensure that the test to go online with the new power plant goes as smoothly as possible and to reduce any risks that may arise during the switchover.

We apologize in advance for any inconveniences this may case.

Saba Electric Company N.V. hereby informs its customers that there will be an islandwide interruption in the supply of electricity on Thursday, February 4, 2016, from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. as it switches over from the old power plant to its new power plant.

This interruption in the supply of electricity is to ensure a smooth transition in the switchover. More importantly, it marks a historic occasion for Saba Electric Company as it bids farewell to its old power plant, which has supplied the people of Saba with electricity for over 40 years, and enters into operation with its new power plant.

We apologize, in advance, for any inconveniences this may cause and hope that you will observe this moment with us.
