Minister Henk Kamp of Economic Affairs visits Saba on August 28th

Minister of Economic Affairs Henk Kamp will pay a working visit to Saba, St. Eustatius and Bonaire from August 28th until September 1st.

On August 28th the Minister will visit Saba. He will speak with among others the Island Governor and members of the Executive Council. The Minister also has a meeting scheduled with local entrepreneurs and representatives of the tourism sector. Further he will open the new electricity company in the harbor.

On August 29th the Minister will arrive in St. Eustatius at the end of the day. The following day he will speak with the Acting Island Governor and the members of the Executive Council. Minister Kamp will inaugurate the new solar energy plant on St. Eustatius.

On August 30th at the end of the day the Minister travels to Bonaire. There on August 31st a meeting is scheduled in the programme with the Island Governor and the Executive Council. The Minister will further hold discussion with representatives of among others the politic and business community about the future economic strategy of Bonaire.

On September 1st the Minister will pay a visit to the lowlands development project (POP). The programme further includes discussions with representatives of the business sector and a visit to WEB electricity company.

  1. And what is this trip supposed to accomplish? Mr. Kamp has been coming to Saba for in years in different capacities yet where economic development is concerned there have been no new investors interested in setting up shop on Saba and now one of the banks is closing. So, what is he expecting to accomplish other than cutting a ribbon that could have been done by anyone else.
