2018 Saba Hell’s Gate Triathlon scheduled for January 20th

The newest edition of the Saba Triathlon has its official date: January 20th, 2018. The date was set in conjunction with many local and regional partners, and is aimed for maximized participation. “The racing event has become an attraction for both locals and off-island athletes alike, and we couldn’t be prouder to be hosting it again,” said chairman Peter Johnson.

The event will once again feature Saba’s many highlights. The open water swim, biking the hills of Saba, and the cool mountain breeze during the trail run are all set to once again be a part of the race.

While Hurricane Irma affected many in the region, Saba has had a full community effort to get things back on track as quickly as possible. Many volunteers over the past few weeks have been working diligently to have the trails back in full working order, and all pieces are in place for Saba to host the event

New committee member Claire Verbeke-Nuyens, representing Queen’s Gardens Resort & Spa, was also glad to be a part of the organization. “This event is important to show that here on Saba we are ready and open for business.”

Potential participants are encouraged to seek more information on the Saba Triathlon Facebook page, or by contacting the Saban Tourism Office.
