Sacred Heart school supports National Down Syndrome Awareness Month.

The students, faculty, and staff at Sacred Heart School showed their support, understanding, and awareness by decorating the Big Down syndrome ribbon at school.

Teacher Helen, the Remedial/Special Ed teacher, read some stories and gave a brief explanation about Down Syndrome to all students. “Educating the students about Down Syndrome will make the students more aware that people with Down Syndrome have the abilities to learn just like everyone else”, said teacher Helen.

Everyone was given a Down Syndrome ribbon to show their support. A special thanks goes to Principal Diane and all the teachers for the opportunity that was given to teacher Helen to promote a better understanding and acceptance of all children.

Let’s spread the awareness, not only during the month of October but every day.
