Free Saba Healthy Lifestyle Program Kicks Off On Monday 18th of March

On Monday 18th of March the Saba Healthy Lifestyle program kicks off its 10 weekly Monday sessions with an Introduction Evening from 7 till 8.30 pm at the Queen Wilhelmina Library in The Bottom.
The program is free and open to anyone (16+ years old) who wants to feel fit, healthy and happy.

Saba Healthy Lifestyle’s team: dr Koen Hulshof from Public Health, Esther Hermans-van Woudenberg, holistic health and nutrition specialist, Joelyn Robinson, island sports coach and Suchita Peeters, trainer and therapist at Saba Initiative, with guest speakers/presenters eng. agro. Sam Frederick, manager at the Organoponic Garden in the Level, and Rachel Majerczyk, marine biology enthusiast and yoga teacher, will be making this interesting and varied program a success for Saba.

The program aims to support the population of Saba in growing towards a healthier lifestyle, as it combines physical exercise (at your own level) in the Fit Park in the Bottom with information sessions at the Queen Wilhelmina Library. These sessions focus on supporting participants towards healthier choices for meals and developing a more positive mindset.

On top of the 10 weekly sessions, the program includes 3 ‘Grow your own food’ classes at the Organoponic Garden in The Level and 3 Healthy Cooking classes at the kitchen of Saba Comprehensive School. These additional sessions will be held on Saturdays and are open to the whole family.

The Saba Healthy Lifestyle program combines all three areas needed for healthy lifestyle changes that last: physical movement, positive mindset and healthier food choices.
We offer an active, interesting and exciting program with a good chance for you to lessen and prevent (chronic) disease and overweight, make those healthier choices for meals a new habit, and to feel happier en enjoy life more.
