“Keep Saba Clean” – Island-wide clean-up June 21st -July 13th

The annual Keep Saba Clean island-wide clean-up will begin this Friday, June 21st 2019. Based on feedback from members of the community, this year, we will be trying a new schedule. The clean-up will occur during the upcoming four (4) weeks, on every Friday and Saturday. This will facilitate persons joining the clean-up, who are unable to join during the week because of work schedules. Each week will focus on a different village or area.

Along with cleaning the island and removing debris which would pose a risk during a storm, another aim of this clean-up is to eradicate mosquito breeding grounds. Therefore, we would like to encourage you to also use this time to remove any debris or cover any open containers near your businesses or households, which could provide a breeding ground for mosquitos.

The Island Government is calling on all capable citizens, businesses and organizations to help make this clean-up event a success. Garbage bags, gloves and water will be provided to all volunteers, along with a voucher for a snack.

Below is a flyer with more information about starting times and locations.

We hope to see many of you participating in this event.
